Case study: conceptual design for an urban cafe

Updated: Jan 21

This cafe is in a town centre and the owners wanted a luxurious, modern decor, which also stand out from the usual cafe decors.

I choose black, white and yellow/gold - a timeless and elegant combination, also very dramatic.

Because the space is rather big and there were originally some supporting coloumns, I suggested to keep them and use them to separate different type of areas: cosy nook with armchairs and sofas, open spaces to enjoy looking out to the street and single seats around the columns for those who wants to work on laptop.

The bar area covered with shiny copper colour mirrors to reflect some lights and create an optical effect.

I mixed antique with lace motives and very modern furniture to create a luxury yet relaxed atmosphere. The black kartell lamps are just perfect addition to this .
